I meet a lot of entrepreneurs, wanna-be entrepreneurs and ex-entrepreneurs. They tell a lot of stories and have lots of experience. But how should one approach them or pick their brains on certain topics. The key is in the question which is floating in your mind.In my case, it would be the entire startup journey. The stories of entrepreneurs are borne out of experience, failure and bitter-sweet success. They don’t quote textbooks. They quote their mentors and peers. Therein lies the value and takeaway one gets when speaking with an entrepreneur. So next time you meet an entrepreneur, have a thought to engage them for nuggets of information lie in their stories and conversations. Practice empathetic listening and move to generative conversation if possible.
